4 Music-Related Parties To Organize At Your Place
Tired of sitting on a couch with a beer, talking about things you don’t even remember the next day? Thinking of breaking the habit by trying out new ways to have fun when you hang out with friends on weekends or when you organize family gatherings? Check out these fun party ideas when you can share your passion for music with those you care about!
1) Jam session at your place
Organizing a jam session at your place gives you a great opportunity to get better at your instrument and have fun with your friends at the same time. Experiment with different instruments and different music styles to keep the sessions fresh and exciting, increase your circle of musician friends by inviting new people to join the jam. And make sure your neighbors are either deaf, warned or understanding! If you jam not too late into the evening and do not have very loud drums or bass, you should be fine.
2) Karaoke night
YouTube is a great source for popular karaoke songs, so why not organize a Karaoke Night with your friends this weekend? To make things more interesting, you can divide people in groups and add some extra challenges to the karaoke. For example, instead of choosing which song to sing, each group needs to recognize the randomly shuffled karaoke song’s beginning and start singing (without seeing the artist and title of course) and get a point!
3) Music Genre Costume Party and Music Quizzes
Get your friends to dress up as their favorite musicians: they can show up looking like Jimmy Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, KISS, The Beatles, etc. This is itself will make the party loads of fun.
Then play songs on your stereo and get them to guess the song and artist name. The first one to guess gets a point (one point for the song, one point for the artist). At the end of the game, the winner gets a prize. Your friends will love it.
4) Creativity night
This one does not have to be exclusively about music. Invite friends or family members, and tell them to bring something they have created themselves and show it to others. It can be absolutely anything, provided it has been created by them: a project, a business idea, a drawing, a painting, a video, a photograph, a piece of music, a poem, a text. This will allow you to discover your hidden sides of your friends and family members, to connect deeper with them. Everyone will feel great about being able to show these sides of themselves and sharing it with others. Fun times ahead!
Try out all these party ideas, it will be lots of fun and will break the routine of the typical parties you are used to attend! It will also have long-lasting benefits like getting you to know your friends better, stimulate your own creativity and deepen your passion for music and art in general.
